Golf Buddies
I play in a Golf League at Brentwood Country Club where we live. We play each Wednesday from March until October. We play in scrambles, most par's, mystery holes, we host other clubs. We have a lot of fun. Since we only play 9 holes we are considered the more social group. The serious ladies play 18 holes. Several of us are considering moving up and playing 9 and 18 holes next year. Since I have only been playing for 3 years- last season I was voted "Most Improved". This year I held a position on the Board. Of all things they asked me to take all of the pictures and make a scrapbook. SHOCKING RIGHT!!!!! This next year I will be the VP. I have grown to love each one of the Lady's that I play with and each one of them are at a different stage in their own life. Some played in HIgh School and College but are now taking care of small children. Some have played for 30 plus years. All are Amazing and I learn something about the game each week when I play. This picture is of my favorite girls Nancy Perna, Amy Cottrell and Jeanie Frautschy. It was taken yesterday during our Breast Cancer Awareness Day.

Scrappin
We have had two busy weekends with Nic getting engaged to Amy ( pictures to follow) and Fall Break, and this week Wrestling Matches and Football games. I had the chance to pack up my Scrapbook stuff and spend the day with my friend Amy Cottrell. We started the day at 7 a.m. and ended at 11p.m. I had on my reading glasses all day and had the worst headache today. The affects of getting old. Mike suggested I train next time like a Marathon and start a couple of weeks out Scrapbooking for a few hours, and adding on each weekend. I thought that to be an excellent idea and will remind him of this. Thanks Amy for a great day.

Bluebird Cafe
Nashville is such a fun City to live in. On any given night you can hear up and coming artist playing and show-casing their songs. Last night we got the chance to go to the Bluebird Cafe and listen to our friends Jason Deere and Due West. All of these guys go to church with us. Jason has several church CD"s out including The Trek and the Nashville Tribute to Joseph. I highly recommend both. Due West has just signed to a new label and is so close to "making it big". So glad to call these guys friends.
When I was Relief Society President we had the Singles in our Ward. What a great surprise to see two former singles last night performing with them. Cardin McKinney and Michelle Bailey. Michelle is playing the fiddle in the picture. Cardin is writing and singing with Victoria Shaw another great songwriter in Nashville. Keep your eyes open for Mallary Hope. She performed last night and what a treat that was. She is another up and coming young artist that I am sure will be big one day. What a beautiful voice.

Gram's Party
We have great friends -Ron & Michelle Smith. Ron and Mike coached our son's Matt and Chase in Football for 5 years. They also coached Tyler and Cole in Basketball for several years. Ron's mother Betty Jo -( also known as Grams to everyone) comes to all of the games. Last night Ron and Michelle had a Surprise Birthday Party for Grams. She is by far the coolest 70 year old lady. We love Gram's so much that WHENEVER it happens I would love my grandkids to call me Gram's. It was a blessing for us to be able to hear testaments from all of her Grandchildren , Friends and Family to how much Gram is loved, and all of the self-less acts of kindness that Gram's has performed over the years. Gram has buried 2 husbands and a daughter, survived Breast Cancer and look's like she is 50.

Sammy's
While we were in Utah celebrating Nic's Birthday- we went to a place called Sammy's. Mike had been there before and kept telling me about these amazing shakes. They add real pie pieces to your shake. YUMMY!!! It was the best shake I have ever had. I highly recommend going there if you are in the Provo area. They will open one in Rexberg next month.

Happy Birthday Nic
23 years ago we were blessed with the sweetest little baby boy. He was so eager to enter the world that he was 6 weeks early. Nic only weighed 3lb. 11 oz. Today he is still the sweetest. Nic we love you so much and are so proud of all that you have accomplished- Football, Baseball, Graduation, Mission, and now College. Thank you for being a great older brother to Matt and Tyler. Happy Birthday Nic.

Golf Tournament
On Friday we played in a golf tournament, at The Hermitage. It was sponsored by Lowe's and benefited the "Tennessee Coalition for Breast Cancer Awareness. " The temperatures here in Nashville have been well over 98 degrees. Add the humidity and most days it's about 108. We woke up to the sound of thunder and questioned if we would play. Well- we did... we played in the rain, in the heat, and in the sun. We didn't complain because we were playing with great friends and for a great cause. Thanks Joe and Amy Cottrell for such a great day.

Amy
Nic and Amy have been dating for several months. We think that she is absolutely wonderful. She is funny and sweet and perfect for Nic. In the short time that we have known her we love everything about her. She recently visited Nashville for the first time. We took her out on the boat and tried to get her to wake board. We went to hear friends sing at the Listening Room. The highlight of the trip is that we introduced her to "Sweet Cece's" a great yogurt place here. We tried to teach her to golf, but the best part is that she likes the Twilight Movies and we made Mike and Nic sit thru Eclipse.

My sweet Niece Chandler will be a Senior this year. She is an amazing Volleyball player. It really helps that she is over 6 ft. tall. She has all ready had several colleges looking at her, and her parent's are very happy to announce that she just signed on at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. It is a Division One school in the Sun Belt Conference. She also started playing beach volleyball this summer. Way to go Chan !!

Father's Day
What a relaxing day. We had a great breakfast that Mike wanted to cook. We went to church, then gave Mike his gifts. Later on he cooked our dinner. I did stand in the kitchen while he cooked. We invited Chris Duncan over and watched the rest of the US Open. I think it was a great day... Happy Father's Day Mike- we love you.

FRA Fun Day
Every year FRA holds a May Day for the Upper School and Fun Day for the Middle School. Tyler was part of the Red Team. He had to dress up in Red. Mike helped him get ready for the day. He was so excited when we picked him up and PROUDLY let us know that the Red team won everything. He can't wait for next year.

Roman Guard
March 25,2010
Tonight at church we had an Enrichment Activity. It was called "A Walk with Christ" Mike was asked to be a Roman Guard-guarding Christ's tomb. It was such an uplifting night. The Relief Society did a great job. Every one was dressed according to the time period and even the food was unbelievable.

Not Yet Sweet 16
As parents who have already survived one teenage driver... We would like to think that we learned something the first time. Matt will not be 16 until November 22. We went a head and bought him the car that he will be driving. My car is too wide and Mike's truck is jacked up to high. We surprised him today and gave him the car so that he will be comfortable driving it alone when he does turn 16. He had the biggest grin on his face when he saw the car. It's an older model and we got it for a great price, and is in great shape. Matt works hard both in the classroom and on the field. We are proud of you Matt and love you very much. We have truly been blessed with 3 great boys.

Nauvoo
March 13, 2010
We spent the first part of Spring Break in Nauvoo Illinois. We didn't want Matt and Tyler spending their break just laying out on the beach somewhere, but learning that it's not a "ME" world. We took them to sights from the early pioneers from our Church and to see the trials and struggles that they endured. Packing up their homes and leaving belongings behind.
We met up with long time friends -John and Rebecca Frazier and their kids. We had a great time. The Nauvoo Temple is a beautiful sight at night.

2 Super Nice Guys
Last Summer we got a call from a friend in Utah. He said that a friend of his and his wife were in town attending a Garth Brooks charity event, and if we had time could we show them around town. The friend ended up being Ryan and Laura Denney. Ryan plays for the Buffalo Bills. We took them out for the afternoon on our boat and had a great time. We met them Sunday at church and he brought Chris Hoke who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both of them posed for pictures with some of the youth at church. No big deal. A few weeks later we get a package in the mail that Chris and Ryan both signed for Matt. What a great surprise that these guys in the middle of their season would take the time to send one picture back and forth to each other , sign it and then ship it to us.

Tyler Wrestling 09
Tyler wrestled for the first time. He was unsure of himself at the beginning and lost every match. As a 6th grader he wrestled mostly 7th and 8th graders. Towards the end of the season he had scored points and won a match by a pin. Mike was helping coach and everyone came off the bench when he won. Coach Taylor hugged Tyler so hard that we thought his back was broken. What a great day.

Marathon Training
Mike has decided after watching me train for several Marathons that it can't be that bad. I have challenged him to run with me this year. He didn't have a clue what he was getting into since I get to Coach him. We have run our neighborhood several times, but the big challenge is "The Block". It's 6 miles surrounding our neighborhood with sidewalks and business's and schools. After a world wide text went out to our friends, they KINDLY came by and honked. I tried to convince Mike that drafting is part of running, but only I get to draft him.
